Entertainment One has beefed up its Los Angeles TV brain trust after the departure in February of Noreen Halpern.

Michael Rosenberg, senior VP of original scripted series programming, has been bumped up to executive VP of U.S. scripted TV, where he will stickhandle the development and current programming teams at the Canadian producer in Los Angeles.

Rosenberg will also oversee production of Entertainment One’s film slate.

“He has played a critical role in the development of our current slate of projects and has been instrumental in attracting much of the company’s high-profile relationships such as Dmitry Lipkin and Collette Burson (Hung) and John Grisham (The Firm),” John Morayniss, CEO of Entertainment One Television, said Tuesday in a statement.

Rosenberg’s TV slate includes AMC’s Hell on Wheels, Syfy’s Haven, NBC’s Saving Hope and HBO Canada’s Call Me Fitz.

And in development is Evolution, from writer/producer Steven Bochco; the Philip Seymour Hoffman-starring drama Upstate, from writers Brett C. Leonard and Bob Glaudini, for HBO; and the psychological thriller The Reel, from Paul WS Anderson, Jeremy Bolt and Adam D’Alba.

Rosenberg’s promotion follows Noreen Halpern exiting Entertainment One Television as president of dramatic programming in February.

Her departure followed Toronto-based Entertainment One taking itself off of the auction block after fielding buyer interest for parts or all of the company.

Other management changes on the TV side include Margaret O’Brien being named head of television for Canada.
