Angela Heck wins MTS On Demand $20,000 pitch prize

Angela Heck has walked away with a $20,000 licence fee after winning the MTS Winnipeg On Demand for Buzz, an indie film that examines the culture of the mosquito and what life would be like without the pesky insects.

Heck pitched the project in three minutes to a jury that included Maureen Levitt (Super Channel), Danielle Audette (APTN) and Kim Bell (MTS TV).

The MTS Winnipeg On Demand $20,000 pitch contest took place Tuesday at On Screen Manitoba’s All Access Forum.

Nine other finalists presented rival pitches, including Alf Kollinger with 100 Years of Speed and Daring, Raymond Friesen with Indie 2 – Behind Indie Game: The Movie, Conrad Sweatman with Town Without Poverty and Bruce Claydon with Haunted Winnipeg.

All Access, a conference for broadcast and digital media experts run by On Screen Manitoba, kicked off Monday and runs through to Wednesday.
