U.S. network Nickelodeon has acquired the global broadcast rights to Canadian tween sitcom Life With Boys.
In a deal with Classic Media and Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, Nickelodeon will have exclusive rights in the U.S. and pay TV rights for its regional European channels, including Germany, Benelux, and the Nordics, as well as Latin America and Asia.
Life With Boys premiered on YTV in Canada in September 2011, and launched on Nickelodeon’s U.K. channel in November, through a previous deal with U.K indie Helion Pictures.
In Canada, the show will continue to air on YTV.
The Toronto-shot series follows 14-year-old Tess Foster’s life as the only girl in an otherwise all-male household, comprised of her father, Jack, and three brothers, Gabe, Spencer and Sam.
Life With Boys is created by Michael Poryes (Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven), directed by Steve Wright and Stefan Scaini, and produced by Corus’ Nelvana Studio and YTV.
