Ryan Hanson picks up $2500 A&E short film prize

Ryan Hanson is the latest winner of the $2500 A&E short filmmakers prize for his second short film, The Quarry, which he wrote, directed and produced.

The 12:45-minute film follows a young boy, Charlie, played by Ruben de Baat, who must deal with his emotional feeling towards Natalie, his best friend, played by Meagan Brodie, as she moves away.

Hanson is a graduate of the National Screen Institute.

The A&E Short Filmmakers Award, a juried prize, is presented four times a year.
