Rogers Media has made another major programming acquisition for its FX Canada channel, this time acquiring the 13-episode animated series Unsupervised from FX Productions.
The cartoon series about two teenagers making their way through high school without adult supervision will be simulcast with the FX airdate, starting on Jan. 19.
The pick-up for the male-skewing TV channel follows FX Canada also acquiring the 13-part The Ultimate Fighter reality series for its Friday night lineup from March 2012.
Unsupervised is voiced by Justin Long, Kristen Bell, Romany Malco, Fred Armisen, Kaitlin Olson and Alexa Vega, and focuses on friends Gary and Joel as they try to fit in as teenagers without passing out.
The U.S. series was created and executive produced by Rob Rosell, Scott Marder and David Hornsby, the producers of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The newly-launched FX Canada channel is relying on other stateside FX shows like American Horror Story, Wilfred, The League, Lights Out, Terriers and Sons of Anarchy to bring Canadians on board as subscribers out of the gate.
