For TV handyman Mike Holmes, the latest corporate changes at his production shingle, The Holmes Group, are the business equivalent of his constant on-air declaration, “What else can I do but take down the ceiling?”
Mike Holmes has restructured The Holmes Group by splitting up its co-CEOs.
The star of Holmes and Homes and Holmes Inspections has named Michael Quast as the sole CEO of The Holmes Group.
And former Holmes Group co-CEO Pete Kettlewell will now head up a new indie production company, Point Load Pictures, to operate as a joint venture with Mike Holmes.
Point Load, with Kettlewell as president and Mike Holmes as chairman, will develop and produce new series outside of the Holmes Group brand.
Mike Holmes’ TV empire includes a range of brands like Holmes on Homes, Holmes Inspections, Holmes Workwear, Make It Right Releasing and The Holmes Foundation.
Point Load Pictures has a development deal with HGTV Canada, the specialty channel that made Mike Holmes a recognizable face for Canadians, and now stateside with his shows that air on HGTV U.S.
Kettlewell is at work on a spinoff show for HGTV Canada with Damon Bennett of Holmes Inspection.
Point Load is represented by William Morris Endeavor in the U.S. and internationally.
