TVA Group and Bell TV have finally agreed on terms to get Sun News back on the satellite TV service from Dec. 15.
Terms of the carriage deal were not disclosed.
The 24-hour news channel was dropped from the Bell TV schedule in May 2011 after the two parties failed to agree on a subscriber rate that would keep Sun News as part of its basic package.
After six months of negotiations, TVA Group has managed to get Sun News and three other channels, TVA Sports, Yoopa and Mile, onto the Bell TV schedule.
Sun News will be available on channel 506 on Bell TV and on channels 531 and 1531 on Bell Fibe TV.
“From our perspective, the agreement represents a major stepping stone for our specialty channels, as well as a powerful incentive to continue offering ever more innovative and original television to our viewers,” TVA Group president and CEO Pierre Dion said in a statement.
Following the ouster of Sun News from Bell TV last May, TVA Group urged satellite TV subscribers to express their frustration on a dedicated Facebook page.
