Chris Bonney, most recently SVP, sales and acquisitions at Warner Brothers International Television Production, is joining Canadian-headquartered producer/distributor Cineflix Media as CEO, rights.

Bonney will take up the new post effective February 2012 and will report to CEO Glen Salzman. Working out of Cineflix’s London office, he’ll be tasked with developing Cineflix Media’s long-term strategy regarding globally exploiting its intellectual property on all platforms.

Paul Heaney will continue to serve as president and MD of Cineflix Rights, overseeing the television distribution business.

Prior to Warner Bros., Bonney was managing director of Outright Distribution and a board director for UK indie Shed Media, where he oversaw the distribution strategies for scripted programs, factual series and formats including Who Do You Think You Are?, Supernanny and The World’s Strictest Parents.

Bonney’s hiring follows other key exec appointments at the company, including that of Lisa Levenson asEVP of programming, based out of the company’s new LA office; Vlad Wolynetz as president of production; and Camilla Lewis as MD at Cineflix Productions UK.
