Cartoon Network Latin America has picked up three new Canadian kids series from Nelvana Enterprises.

The Latin America and Caribbean channel acquired the live action series Mr. Young, starring Brendan Meyer as a whiz-kid-turned-teen-genius looking to get into university at nine years old, and the animated series Sidekick and Scaredy Squirrel.

Mr. Young is produced by Thunderbird Films, and airs on YTV in Canada.

Nelvana Enterprises shops Mr. Young internationally, while Nelvana and Thunderbird co-distribute in the U.S.

Sidekick will bow first in October, with the other two series to debut in 2012.

Both Sidekick and Scaredy Squirrel, produced by Nelvana, already air on the U.S.-based Cartoon Network.
