Wizard Hat to develop Wiley and Grampa’s Creature Features book

Indie producer Wizard Hat Productions is at work on a new cartoon, Wiley & Grampa’s Creature Features, based on the book series by Kirk Scroggs.

The boutique animation producer, run by Pam Slavin, Toni Stevens and Bill Fox, has the animated series for boys 6 to 11 years old on the drawing board in development.

The Wiley & Grampa’s Creature Features TV series will portray 10-year-old Wiley and his Grampa, who save the townspeople of Gingham County from supernatural creatures, monsters and terrible cafeteria food.

Toronto-based Wizard Hat also has on its development slate the preschool cartoon Chicken, Pig, Cow based on the kids’ book series by author Ruth Ohi.

And Wizard Hat last year unveiled plans to shoot 26 half-hours of a tween-targeting, CGI-animated show based on the Grim Hill book series, launched by Lobster Press in 2007.
