Andrea Nemtin, president and CEO of Toronto-based prodco PTV Productions, is leaving the post after 15 years.

Nemtin is heading to S-VOX Foundation, currently a registered Canadian charity and soon to be re-designated as a public foundation geared towards supporting spiritual understanding and educating Canadian youth about faith communities and religious and spiritual heritages.

S-VOX also operated the Canadian multi-faith network Vision TV, which it sold in 2010. Nemtin joins S-VOX as executive director and CEO.

Recent productions from PTV include Star Portraits, airing on Bravo! Canada, and the multi-platform documentary series Inside Disaster: Haiti, both of which are up for Gemini Awards this year. Other acclaimed recent productions include the docudrama Passage, coproduced with John Walker Productions and the NFB, and winner of the 2009 grand prize for best Canadian production at the Banff World Television Awards; and the treaty coproduction doc Aga Khan: A Voice of Reason.

In addition to her work with PTV Productions, Nemtin has also been an executive board member of Hot Docs and the past national chair of the Documentary Organization of Canada. In 2010, PTV Productions was part of realscreen’s Global 100, an annual listing of influential and trusted production companies from around the world as chosen by realscreen readers.

Ian Dunbar, co-owner of PTV Productions, will be taking over Nemtin’s roles as president and CEO.
