Eight join CFC Actors Conservatory

The third annual Actors Conservatory at the Canadian Film Centre kicked off on Tuesday, chaired by Kiefer Sutherland.

Eight actors have been selected to take part in the five-month program: Kristin Adams (An Insignificant Harvey, Down the Road Again), Matthew Brown (The Kennedys, Instant Star), Charlie Carrick (Gordon, Tower Prep), Amber Goldfarb (Musée Eden, Guidestones), Trevor Hayes (I’m Not There, The Wild Hunt), Melissa Hood (My Pal Satan, The Fishing Trip), Kimberly-Sue Murray (Rose By Name, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White) and Jonathan Sousa (pictured, Dual Suspects, Pay No More).

Through the program, the film, TV and theatre actors have the opportunity to enhance their artistic and technical skills through the on-screen training program.

Actors will receive individual mentorship over the course of the conservatory from Peter Stebbings (Defendor), Michael Riley (Being Erica), Rosemary Dunsmore (Road to Avonlea), Marissa Richmond, (Flashpoint, Durham County), Jason Knight (Take This Waltz, Away From Her) and Maureen Dorey (Amal, Nurse.Fighter.Boy), as well as learning through master classes and workshops.

Additional mentors, workshop leaders and guests will be announced in the coming months.
