Eleven Canadian documentary projects have been named as recipients of the latest round of Shaw Media-Hot Docs Documentary Funds grants and no-interest loans.
The amounts received by the projects add up to $242,000 for this seventh round of disbursements. In total, 73 projects have received $1,804,000 in grants and no-interest loans from the Funds, which consist of a $3 million completion fund and a $1 million development fund.
“The selection committees were enticed by the range of engaging and innovative projects submitted by talented teams from across the country, and it is our pleasure to be able to provide support for films in the face of an increasingly challenged documentary marketplace,” said Elizabeth Radshaw, Hot Docs Forum and market director.
