Tecca Crosby

Looking to expand its executive team alongside its growing development slate, Toronto-based indie Entertainment One has hired long time broadcast exec Tecca Crosby as SVP of creative affairs.

Crosby was most recently at Temple Street Productions, where she headed up the company’s drama division. Prior to that, she held executive programming roles at CTV, where she oversaw the shows such as The Eleventh Hour and Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Crosby’s title is a new one at the company, and was created to address the needs of its rapidly growing development slate, Noreen Halpern, president, scripted programming, Entertainment One Television, tells Playback.

“[Bringing Crosby on] is a factor of the number of shows that we’re developing and our expanded roster,” she says. “It’s very exciting times right now in Canada and internationally. We’re just busy, which is always a good thing.”

Having known Crosby for many years, Halpern says she was a natural fit for the role.

“She’s an amazing broadcaster, an incredible producer, and is so well loved within the community,” Halpern says. “She’s one of those people who knows how to fight for the creative and what she believes in.”

Crosby joins eOne’s Toronto office starting Aug. 29.
