Temple Street names new head of drama

Following the announcement earlier this week regarding a new strategic partnership for its original branded content business, Toronto-based Temple Street Productions has announced an executive promotion and two new hires.

Now heading up the company’s drama division is Kerry Appleyard, who replaces Tecca Crosby as acting head of drama. Appleyard will develop and produce all scripted projects for Temple Street; her previous credits at Temple Street include teen series Wingin’ It and leading the prodco’s scripted development slate.

Before joining Temple Street, Appleyard was a producer at UK-based Kudos Film and TV, where she produced the BBC’s Hustle and kids’ series M.I. High.

Additional appointments at the prodco include Kelly Jenkins as the new director of business affairs and Micol Marotti as the new manager of corporate communications. Jenkins will handle broadcast license agreements, distribution arrangements and talent contracts for Temple Street, as well as structuring coproduction and coventure deals. Previously, he was with White Pine Pictures as that company’s head of business affairs.

Earlier this week, Temple Street announced a strategic partnership with Toronto-based ad shop Capital C and international holding company MDC Partners, to create brand-supported “scalable multi-platform content opportunities.”
