Food Network Canada’s fall sked revealed

Food Network Canada has announced its fall schedule, slotting Temple Street Productions’ Recipe to Riches in for a prime time mid-week debut.

The series was announced this spring as part of Global TV’s upfront presentations, slated to air on Saturday nights in repeat at 8 p.m. The first airing, however, belongs to Food on Wednesdays at 9 p.m.

Produced by Temple with sponsorship from President’s Choice, Recipe to Riches gives Canadians the opportunity to win $250,000 and see their recipe turned into a PC product and sold in Loblaw stores. The reality show will feature the CEO of new Temple Street partner agency Capital C, Tony Chapman as a judge and The Bachelor’s Jesse Palmer as host.

New U.S. programming on Food Network Canada this fall includes Jamie’s Meals in Minutes, from celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, which premiers Monday Aug. 29 at 5 p.m. and Sugar High, premiering on Wednesday Aug. 31 at 9 p.m., which features Ace of Cakes star Duff Goldman taking a road trip to find the best desserts in America.

Tough Cookies, premiering Wednesday Aug. 31 at 9:30 p.m., features local family-run biscuit shop Crazy Susan’s Cookie Company and Crave features food journalist and critic Troy Johnston taking viewers around the world to show the origins of famous culinary dishes.

Last on the new show list is Heat Seekers, which features two chefs on a quest to find the spiciest foods in the U.S. and figure out why people love to eat them. It premieres Thursday Sept. 1 at 9:30 p.m.

Food Network Canada’s fall schedule also includes 19 returning shows including Paperny Film’s Eat St (pictured) on Fridays at 9 p.m. beginning September 2 .
