Cameras roll on second season of Being Human

Muse Entertainment has kicked off production on 13 new eps of the sci-fi series Being Human in Montreal.

The second season continues the story of three paranormal roomies played by Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington, with new cast member Dichen Lachman.

Being Human is based on the UK series from Touchpaper Television, which has been growing its own American fan: since debuting on Syfy in the U.S. in January, it’s been averaging 1.8 million viewers. On the home front, its premiere was the most successful new series launch in winter/spring for Space since 2005.

The series is produced by Muse in association with Zodiak Media for Space and Syfy, with Zodiak Rights distributing the series across the globe.

Michael Prupas (The Kennedys, Pillars of the Earth) is executive producer of the series with Adam Kane (Heroes, Pushing Daisies), Rob Pursey and Toby Whithouse. Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) and Anna Fricke (Men in Trees, Everwood) are also executive producers as well as both writers and showrunners. Series producer is Irene Litinsky, Pierre Jodoin is director of photography and Zoe Sakellaropoulo is production designer.

Adam Kane and Paolo Barzman (The Last Templar, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde) are directing the first three episodes, with directors for other eps to be announced.
