Canadian projects picked for INplay pitching

Five Canadian kids interactive projects have been picked to be pitched at next week’s INplay 2011 conference.

The May 18 showcase, a partnership with the Canadian Media Fund, will see Winnipeg’s Meghan Athavale present PO-Motion, a motion-reactive projection software for computers that allows childhood educators to project motion reactive images on floors and walls.

Calgary-based Josh Heidebrecht will pitch his OLIVIA Paints iPhone app, which enables iPhone users to mix colors and paint or do other magic tricks by a simple swipe of the phone screen.

Also INplay-bound is Winnipeg’s Kevin Glasier with an iPhone/iPod app that enables kids to improve their speech clarity through voice-controlled games, and Toronto-based Eric Sorenson will pitch Kidobi, a subscription-based technology that creates personalized programming blocks for preschool children.

And Clive Goodinson of Parksville, British Columbia is bringing Click-n-Drag Comics to INplay, technology that create comics on the web.

INplay takes place in Toronto on May 17-18.
