Not only did the season six premiere of Doctor Who see a record number of total viewers, the ep “The Impossible Astronaut” also became the most-watched broadcast on Space this year.

Part one of the two-part season opener saw 538,000 folks tuning in, up 3% from the last most-watched Doctor Who ep. This premiere also saw a spike across a number of key demos, from the A18-49 (up 7% with 292,000 viewers, BBM); women 25-54 (up 50% with 111,000 viewers), and and women 18-49 (up 62% with 114,000 viewers).

The next ep “Day of the Moon” airs this Saturday at 8 pm.
