Entertainment One has renewed a major driver of its movie distribution momentum: a supply deal in Canada and Britain with Summit Entertainment and its Twilight Saga series (pictured).
Under the terms of the new agreements that run through July 2015, the Toronto-based distributor will continue to release Summit films in all media in both markets.
Since launching in 2007, Summit has produced a range of popular movies, including The Twilight Saga series, the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker, the Red action-comedy, shot in Toronto, and the recent Source Code release.
Entertainment One expects to release up to eight Summit films a year in Canada and the UK, including The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2.
“We are thrilled to extend our strong relationship with Summit Entertainment. The highly-successful partnership has fostered tremendous growth in both our businesses over the past three years,” Darren Throop, president and CEO of Entertainment One said in a statement.
