Toronto-based indie Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group has concluded a number of deals for its lifestyle and documentary programming, following MIPTV in Cannes earlier this month.
The company renewed a deal for its documentary series Crimes of Passion (pictured, 16 x 30 minutes) with AETN in the UK, along with extended rights for the series with AETN’s channels in Benelux, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Elsewhere, it licensed the lifestyle series Homestyle (27 x 30 minutes) to Echo TV Productions in the United Arab Emirates. The show offers design advice to homeowners and shares do-it-yourself home restoration projects.
“MIPTV proved to be highly successful for Skywriter, having closed an important renewal and territorial expansion with AETN as well as wrapping up sales totalling 160 half-hours of programming in the Middle East and Malaysia,” said Gwen Jones McCauley, Skywriter’s VP of distribution and acquisitions.
