The OMDC’s feature film networking and co-production conference Producers Lab Toronto will return to the Toronto International Film Festival this year, organizers said Tuesday.
The co-production forum, created by the European Film Promotion, and run in concert with the OMDC and TIFF, will bring Canadian and European film producers together to talk collaboration from September 7 to 10.
Last year’s pitching Canadian filmmakers at the inaugural Producers Lab Toronto included Paul Barkin at Alcina Pictures, Paul Scherzer at Six Island Productions, Liz Jarvis of Buffalo Gal Pictures, Martin Paul-Hus at Amerique Film and Andrew Boutilier of Submission Films.
Canadian organizers are looking for local film producers experienced in international co-productions, and with projects on the go, to take part this year.
Last year, the Canadian-Irish co-production Stay, between Martin Paul-Hus of Amerique Films, Andrew Boutilier of Submission Films and Martina Niland at Samson Films in Ireland, was hatched at the TIFF platform.
A call for submissions from the OMDC and TIFF will shortly go out. The next 24-strong field of Canadian and European producers will be unveiled in July.
