The one and only William Shatner will be at The National Arts Centre in Ottawa on March 10 to host the 31st Annual Genie Awards. The fest will be carried by the CBC, with Rachelle Lefevre (Barney’s Version) voicing the show.

“I’m so looking forward to coming to Canada as the host of the 31st Annual Genie Awards and seeing a lot of my old friends,” said Shatner in a statement. “Unfortunately, most of them are dead of old age.”

“William Shatner is a beloved icon and a proud Canadian,” said Sara Morton, CEO, Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. “We are absolutely thrilled that [he] will be joining us at the Genie Awards to honor our country’s talent and to celebrate a phenomenal year in Canadian film.”
