Cookie Jar releases development slate

Kids TV producer Cookie Jar Entertainment is developing the family spy drama Spyburbia for Global Television and Fox stateside.

The series, created by Steven De Souza, is one of a host of development projects parked with North American broadcasters as the Canadian producer looks to break into live action primetime with a The Jar-branded lineup.

Other projects being stick-handled by Los Angeles-based Cookie Jar executive vice president Tom Mazza include Know It Alls, about a group of kids at a school for geniuses, being developed for Family Channel in Canada and The Hub in the U.S. market.

Todd Greenwald created Know It Alls.

Cookie Jar launched its own primetime label, The Jar, to serve the live-action primetime needs of major networks.

The first series was high-flying Lucha Libre TV wrestling series for MTV2 and MTV Tres, and the animation/live-action hybrid Mudpit for Teletoon, from veteran showrunner Bruce Kalish.

Cookie Jar is also developing the animated series Blah Girls for MTV, the Lords of the Playground sitcom, created by Andrew Orenstein for CBS.

And the Canadian producer is developing All Over You, from Lori Kirkland Baker, for Lifetime.

Cookie Jar also has two animated series in development at Teletoon from creators Scott Fellows and Brad Peyton.

The producer remains a major supplier of cartoon fare for CBS, with its latest cycle including Busytown Mysteries, Doodlebops Rockin’ Road Show (pictured), Trollz and Horseland.
