The latest round of the Interactive Digital Media (IDM) Fund recipients from the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) proves that games are top of mind, as the body hands out $2 million among 19 projects.

Nearly all the projects receiving funding span games across all platforms, from downloadable console (Tales from Space: Return of the Blobs, Drinkbox Studios; Sideway: New York, Playbrains) to PC (Hegemony 2: Caesar in Gaul, Longbow Digital Arts Incorporated; Supreme Ruler 1936, BattleGoat Studios) to iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad (Dark Incursion, Big Blue Bubble; Mega Run, Get Set Games).

A few non-game projects also landed OMDC money, including iThentic’s Guidestones web series (website and iPhone app), TEACH Magazine’s e-learning website Project 1812.

The recipients were honored at an IDM Showcase Monday night at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, along with demos of past fund recipients’ products.
