CBC and ACTRA seal new labor deal

ACTRA members have ratified a new collective agreement for the CBC’s radio and TV services.

The actor union on Friday reported that its rank and file voted 98.5% in favor of the new agreement, which is retroactive to July 1, 2010, and run to June 30, 2011.

The one year deal gives actors a 1.5% pay rate increase.

Otherwise, ACTRA’s radio and TV agreements with the CBC were mostly unchanged after the latest bargaining round.

“We and the CBC believe the Agreements are working well and so no major changes were required this time around,” Stephen Waddell, ACTRA national executive director, said.
