Shatner, Tapping to lead in The Zenoids

William Shatner and Amanda Tapping have signed on to top-line the animated webisode series The Zenoids.

Produced for Shatner’s social website MyOuterspace.com., The Zenoids will see the Star Trek icon and Tapping (Sanctuary) provide voices for the story of a family of space-faring Amphibinoid musicians.

Shatner and Tapping play the husband and wife team of Kozmo and Zara trying keep their superstar dreams alive, while living adventure to adventure with their two teenage kids, and space dog Orbit.

The Canadian web series was developed by Shatner and Sammy Oriti, with production on an initial four webisodes to start in late February.

The Zenoids is also the latest in a stream of projects from Shatner, including two documentaries by and about the Canadian-born actor: The Captains, a feature-length Canadian pay TV documentary that captures Shatner’s career arc to overnight success as Captain James T. Kirk, and William Shatner’s Gonzo Ballet.

The second documentary chronicles Shatner’s collaboration in a Milwaukee Ballet production by Margo Sappington, entitled Common People.

Shatner also did a Canadian film salute for the CBC, and is starring in the hit CBS sitcom $#*! My Dad Says.
