Quebecor Fund announces Event and Film Production funding

The Quebecor Fund has announced just under a million dollars for the first round of funding under the new Event and Film Production Assistance Program. In total, $916,000 will go to eight production companies and three distributors for their recent submissions.

The Fund was established through Videotron, which provides over $6.8 million annually in broadcasting distribution undertaking contributions to the Canadian industry.

Le Torrent – Lusio Films (producer), Remstar Films (distributor)
Tout ce que tu possèdes – ACPAV (producer), Les Films Séville (distributor)
Liverpool – Max Films (producer), Remstar Films (distributor)

The next deadline for applications for funding under the Event and Film Production Assistance Program is June 3, 2011. The date of the next round of funding under Quebecor’s Main Television Production Assistance Program is April 1, 2011. For more information, see the Quebecor Fund website.
