The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival has shaken up its programming team, with Gisèle Gordon joining Lynne Crocker and Heather Haynes as international film selectors.
Gordon previously programmed Canadian films, while Crocker and Haynes have been promoted from associate programmer positions at Hot Docs.
The doc festival’s international programming team, led by director Sean Farnel, also now includes Angie Driscoll and Myrocia Watamaniuk, as well as programming manager Karina Rotenstein.
On the Canadian film front, long-time Hot Docs programmer Lynne Fernie is back as senior Canadian programmer, alongside former associate programmer Alex Rogalski, now a Canadian programmer.
And Michelle Latimer returns to the festival as an associate Canadian programmer.
And new associate programmers at Hot Docs include Juan Baquero, Samara Grace Chadwick, Eli Horwatt, and Merrie Whitmore, as they join returning associate programmer Sarafina DiFelice.
Hot Docs also announced Tuesday that Canadian filmmaker Terence Macartney-Filgate will receive its 2011 outstanding achievement award.
The doc festival will also honor Alan Zweig with this year’s Focus On retrospective, which showcases the work of a mid-career Canadian filmmaker.
The 2011 Hot Docs festival is set to run from April 28 to May 8 in Toronto.
