Rogers Sportsnet has rolled out a hockey app in time for the 2011 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
The Hockeycentral iPad app will allow viewers to watch coverage of the Championship for the semifinal match-ups on Monday, January 3, and then the bronze and gold medal games on Wednesday, January 5. (Go Canada!) There will also be previews, recaps, player features and Twitter updates.
“We know our hockey fans expect immediate access to NHL news and their favorite teams in the digital era”, said Scott Moore, president, Rogers Broadcasting said in a statement. “The Hockeycentral iPad app will provide fans with a best in class presentation for all their hockey needs and plug them into the top hockey insiders in the industry.”
Once the Juniors wrap, the app will keep NHL fans connected with scores, stats and breaking news as well as blogs and posts, and will also offer complete CHL coverage.
