Last Train Home takes L.A. Film Critics’ best doc honor

EyeSteelFilm’s Last Train Home, directed by Lixin Fan, was named best documentary/non-fiction film at the 36th annual Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) Awards.

The film documents, through the eyes of a single family, the annual journey undertaken by migrant workers in China who return home to their rural lives during the Chinese New Year.

While the film didn’t make the shortlist for Oscar consideration, it leads the nominations in the upcoming Cinema Eye Honors. The LAFCA named Banksy’s Exit Through the Gift Shop as the runner-up in the category.
