James Cameron and Cirque pact on 3D movie

Canada’s two biggest entertainment exports, Cirque du Soleil and James Cameron, have pacted to make a 3D feature film based on the famed Quebec circus troupe in New Zealand.

The 3D feature, which includes footage of Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas, is being directed by Andrew Adamson (Shrek, Chronicles of Narnia).

Cameron is lending his 3D expertise to the project.

Cirque du Soleil, founded in Quebec City by Guy Laliberte and a street theater group, has grown into a multinational entertainment giant with acrobatic-driven circus shows either touring or running permanently in Las Vegas and elsewhere worldwide.
