New anchors for CTV B.C. News

Tamara Taggart (pictured) and Mike Killeen have been tapped to replace long-time CTV British Columbia newscasters Pamela Martin and Bill Good in the Vancouver TV market.

Taggart and Killeen will start anchoring CTV News at Six on January 3rd, 2011.

Their appointment follows Martin and Good on Tuesday announcing they will step away from the CTV British Columbia anchor desk and pass the baton at the end of 2010.

Bill Good, who started at the CBC as a sportscaster during the 1970s, will continue his radio gig with CKNW in Vancouver.

Martin first came to then BCTV in 1977 after working as a beat reporter at CKNW.

“Mike and Tamara are the perfect combination to take our newscast into the future,” Tom Haberstroh, vice president and general manager at CTV British Columbia, said in a statement.

Taggart has been with the CTV affiliate for 13 years, co-hosting Vancouver Breakfast before operating weathercaster roll on CTV News at Five, 6 and 11:30.

Killeen, a veteran foreign journalist, came to CTV ten years ago, and has co-anchored CTV’s weekend newscast.
