Toronto-based Photon Films has appointed Tanya Mason as head of theatrical and digital sales.

Mason (pictured), who assumed the role on June 16, reports to president Mark Slone, a Photon spokesperson told Playback Daily.

Mason previously worked at Sinking Ship Entertainment, starting as distribution coordinator in 2021, before also taking on the consumer product manager role in 2022. Prior to that, she served as manager of content programming at Landmark Cinemas Canada, business development manager at Sony Pictures Entertainment and sales director at Paramount Vantage.

Mason replaces Marisa Friesen, who joined Elevation Pictures as senior manager, theatrical sales in May.
