Entertainment One has picked up four comedy specials from The Levity Entertainment Group for North American distribution.
The deal includes the DVD, digital, audio and ancillary rights to four stand-up comedy shows from Levity Productions, featuring performances by comics Ben Bailey, Alonzo Bodden, Rachel Feinstein, Marina Franklin, Nikki Glaser and Amy Schumer.
The Levity distribution agreement was unveiled by Allen Blackwell, senior director of urban film and comedy for Entertainment One.
Levity previously had an exclusive distribution agreement for its original comedy programming with Image Entertainment, to run to 2009.
The new deal also came on the same day Entertainment One issued a trading update ahead of its six months results to September 30 being unveiled in mid-November.
The Toronto-based studio, whose stock trades on the London Stock Exchange, said its full year fiscal 2011 results are expected to “be in line with market expectations.”
Entertainment One added that its independent library valuation jumped by 14% to over $250 million.
