Mystery series Mistletoe Murders, from Headspinner Productions and Lionsgate Canada, has been renewed by Hallmark Media for a second season.
The six-episode series premiered Nov. 18, 2024 on the W Network in Canada, following its U.S. premiere on streaming service Hallmark+ on Oct. 31. The series began in 2022 as an Audible scripted podcast starring Cobie Smulders and Raymond Ablack that has now completed three seasons.
Mistletoe Murders follows the owner of a small town, year-round Christmas store who investigates murders with a local cop. It stars U.S. actor Sarah Drew (pictured) as well as Canadian actors Peter Mooney, Sierra Marilyn Riley and Lara Amersey. Jean Yoon and Kylee Evans, who reprise their roles from the podcast, are also set to return.
The series is executive produced by showrunner Ken Cuperus, Michelle Melanson, Lionsgate Canada’s president for TV Jocelyn Hamilton, and Drew. Melanie Orr and James Genn are onboard as directors. Lionsgate also handles international distribution.
The second season of Mistletoe Murders is set to shoot later this year, and will premiere during the 2025 holiday season, according to a release. The second season will also be returning to the W Network, a Corus spokesperson told Playback Daily.
