Jason James film All Night Wrong in prep for B.C. shoot

The Canada-U.K. copro from Jason James will star Maria Bakalova and Zach Cherry.

Vancouver filmmaker Jason James is in prep for his next feature, the violent comedy noir All Night Wrong.

Production on the film will begin in Invermere, B.C. this November and wrap in December, James told Playback Daily.

The Canada-U.K. copro is written by Jason Filiatrault, who previously collaborated with James on the 2017 film Entanglement.

All Night Wrong is produced by James’ Resonance Films alongside Amber Ripley (Entanglement) from Vancouver-based prodco Goodbye Productions and Richard Kondal (Get Away) from London-based Big Safari Productions. Executive producers are Sara Shaak (Girl) from Calgary’s Anamorphic Media and Angela Demo (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), who is also the casting director.

Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) and Zach Cherry (Severance) star in the film as a grieving widow and a married man with an inferiority complex, whose first date is derailed by the theft of a killer’s car, a dead body and $40,000.

Bakalova is represented by Insight Management and Production, CAA and Brookside Artist Management; Cherry is repped by CAA, Edna Cowan Management and Felker Toczek Suddleson McGuinnis Ryan LLP.
