Lionsgate Canada has hired Georgia Shearman (pictured) as director, scripted development.
Based in Toronto, Shearman reports to Andrew Kelly, VP, scripted development, and is tasked with sourcing and developing original series for the team.
Most recently, Shearman was as a development executive on Bell Media’s original programming team, where she worked with creatives and industry partners on the company’s scripted development slate.
Before joining Bell Media, Shearman was the lead development and production executive at Toronto-based prodco Circle Blue Entertainment.
Shearman’s new role rounds out Lionsgate Canada’s scripted team, which includes Kerry Appleyard as SVP, scripted and unscripted programming, and Jessica Liadsky, manager, scripted development. Lionsgate Canada is led by president, television Jocelyn Hamilton.
Entertainment One’s Canadian arm rebranded to Lionsgate Canada in June, roughly six months after Lionsgate acquired a majority stake in the business, as well as the eOne film and TV assets.
