Martin Landau is in talks to top-line Born Into This, the debut feature from writer/director Emmanuel Shirinian and indie producer Spiral Media.

David Miller and Darren Portelli are producing the feature, which was developed by Shirinian and Portelli at the National Screen Institute from an earlier 2006 short film, The Last Bang.

That comedic short bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2006.

Born Into This has initial backing from the OMDC and Telefilm Canada, and is being shopped by Spiral Media at TIFF.

Shirinian’s 2007 short film Song of Slomon screened at the 7th Tribeca Film Festival, and his latest short, Les Softies, and written and produced with Russell Bennet, is unspooling at TIFF this week as part of the Short Cuts Canada sidebar.
