The Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) has partnered with Montreal-based incubator Zú to launch a program for Quebec cultural businesses developing new technology.
Accélération SODEC will offer ten weeks of coaching via online workshops and in-person meetings using Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies for early-stage tech concepts, including new products and business models.
The program is open to companies in Quebec working in sectors such as audiovisual, digital, music, arts and publishing, with up to 10 spots available in the fall.
Eligible companies will need to create an action plan, and will be able to develop an IP registration plan with the support of the program, with the end goal of accelerating a market launch. The deadline to apply is Aug. 29.
“Now more than ever, Quebec’s creative and cultural businesses must embrace technology to maximize their growth and ensure their sustainability,” said Zú president and CEO Dimitri Gourdin in a statement. “The Accélération SODEC program will enable selected companies to explore new sources of revenue and position themselves advantageously in new markets.”
