Trina McQueen will take the lifetime achievement award at this year’s Banff festival, organizers announced Friday. The former CTV president and CBC news boss will receive the award at the fest’s annual award luncheon on June 8.
‘Trina McQueen is a true champion of the Canadian broadcast industry,’ said festival head Peter Vamos in a statement, noting her ‘significant and enduring contributions’ to the TV industry in Canada. Previous winners include HBO’s Sheila Nevins, British producer Jon Plowman and actor Gordon Pinsent.
‘It’s a wonderful thing to be, surprisingly, among the illustrious winners of the lifetime achievement award,’ said McQueen.
