New York City-based film and television studio FilmRise has picked up exclusive AVOD and FAST rights to Corner Gas from Prairie Pants Distribution.

The deal sees FilmRise acquire sub-distribution rights to all six seasons of the Bell Media original sitcom – including all 107 x 30-minute episodes and the 90-minute Corner Gas: The Movie.

The deal was negotiated by Katherine Weinstein, manager of content acquisitions for FilmRise – with Michael Smith (Warburn Consulting) advising – and Virginia Thompson, president of Prairie Pants Distribution. Corner Gas was produced by Vérité Films and 335 Productions.

The announcement was made by Max Einhorn, SVP acquisitions and coproductions at FilmRise, and Thompson of Prairie Pants Distribution.

Thompson said bringing the franchise to FilmRise will “maximize Corner Gas‘ global reach in the FAST and AVOD space.”

The company previously acquired FAST rights to Canadian series such as Kim’s Convenience, The Kids in the Hall and a raft of WildBrain titles.
