Quebec version of Got Talent to land on Noovo

Quel talent! will be produced by Sphere Media and Fremantle in association with Bell Media.

Bell Media’s Noovo has acquired the format rights to the Got Talent reality competition franchise for the Quebec market.

Quel talent! will be produced by Sphere Media and Fremantle — which owns the format with Syco Entertainment — in association with Bell Media, and will begin filming this summer.

Luc Sirois and Audrey Potvin are attached to direct. Marc-Alexandre Larouche is a producer, while Marie-Pier Gaudreault, Renaud Chassé and Marie-Hélène Tremblay are executive producers.

The Got Talent format sees participants of all ages perform acts to win the approval of an audience and a panel of judges. The judges for Quel talent! include music artist Marie-Mai, comedian Rachid Badouri, director Serge Denoncourt and actor Anne Dorval. Radio personality Marie-Josée Gauvin will host.

Noovo has put out a casting call for the show, calling on musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, ventriloquists, magicians and others to take part. Casting is open until April 28.

Launched in 2006 via America’s Got Talent, the format was created by Syco founder Simon Cowell. Fremantle is the international distributor of the format, which has been adapted in 73 countries and is broadcast in 194 countries, according to a news release.

In Canada, the show’s English-language version Canada’s Got Talent airs on Citytv and is produced by McGillivray Entertainment Media, Fremantle and Syco Entertainment.
