Playback parent company Brunico Communications has merged the location of its Realscreen Summit and NATPE Global conferences for 2025.
The 2025 editions of Realscreen Summit, billed as the largest and most influential global unscripted industry gathering, and NATPE Global will co-locate at the InterContinental Miami hotel on the week of Feb. 3 to 7, 2025. The decision was cited as a response to the market appetite for an all-encompassing event.
Each event will retain its own distinct agenda and programs while providing attendees with the option to participate in both markets. The Realscreen Summit will open the week, followed by NATPE Global, with a mid-week crossover day on Feb. 5 bridging the two events.
The co-location is intended to provide ideal production and distribution dealmaking opportunities to attendees of both events while making attendance and exhibition more efficient, and allowing delegates to conduct a broader range of business in one trip. Realscreen Summit brings key unscripted producers and buyers from the development side of the business to NATPE Global, while NATPE brings significant breadth and strength across all genres as well as markets such as Latin America and Europe.
The events will be co-led by NATPE executive director Claire Macdonald, who will helm the sales effort as SVP revenue for NATPE and Realscreen, while Realscreen EVP Mary Maddever will lead the content teams as executive content director for both events.
The first NATPE/Realscreen collaboration will kick off in June at NATPE Budapest, with a Realscreen-branded format track as part of the agenda. NATPE Budapest runs June 24 to 27, 2024 at the InterContinental Budapest.
“In this challenging climate, clients and buyers alike have asked for a single market that meets the full scope of their business needs across their organizations,” said Brunico Communications president and CEO Russell Goldstein (pictured) in a statement. “In response, we’re creating the most comprehensive North American-based content market available and an unbeatable value proposition.”
Added Maddever: “Realscreen is known for its unparalleled curated networking and pitch experiences, which align perfectly with NATPE’s focus on creating a vital cross-industry space for cultivating domestic and international business relationships.”
“Our stakeholders are looking for the most efficient and cost-effective way to conduct business,” said Macdonald. “This provides an exceptional forum to maximize commercial opportunities on both the finished sales and commissioning ends of the spectrum.”
