The Shaw Rocket Fund has added TikTok’s Gave Lindo to its board of directors as it expands the team with a key hire and promotion.
Lindo, the North American head of content programming at TikTok, brings extensive executive and legal experience in the media and cultural sectors. His previous roles include leading CBC’s digital content offerings, including CBC Kids, and launching the streaming service CBC Gem as executive director of OTT programming.
Shaw Rocket Fund chair Christine Shipton said Lindo’s “broad and relevant experience will be a fantastic addition as Rocket Fund navigates the rapidly changing media world to meet kids where they are today when it comes to consumption of that media,” in a statement.
Meanwhile, the organization has hired Mica Taiah as a content analyst, and promoted Becki Brisson to VP, business affairs and operations.
The enhancements are meant to help the fund navigate the evolving media landscape and strengthen the Rocket Fund’s position in the Canadian children’s media sector, allowing president and CEO Agnes Augustin to focus on industry advocacy and partnerships, according to a news release.
Taiah, formerly with Warner Bros. Discovery, adds over 15 years of entertainment experience, specializing in kids and family content. Taiah also interned with the Rocket Fund as part of Centennial College’s Children’s Media Postgraduate Program.
Brisson, who has served with the fund since 2012, is recognized for her crucial role in the organization’s evolution, fostering relationships with producers.
