Super Channel, Autentic order more Go Button factual series

Go Button Media will deliver new series Colossal Weapons and a second season of Deadly Science for 2024.

Toronto’s Go Button Media has secured a commission and a renewal for two factual series set to debut in 2024, strengthening its partnerships with German distributor Autentic and Super Channel.

The first series, Colossal Weapons, is a new six-part exploration of technological advancements that drove wartime success. Using exclusive archival footage, 4K CGI and expert interviews, the series delves into various war machines and combat technologies, featuring notable examples like the F-35 fighter jet and the M1 Abrams Tank.

Autentic and Super Channel have also renewed Deadly Science for a second 6 x 10-minute season. This show delves into the stories of innovators who sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of scientific progress.

Examples include Rosalind Franklin (who discovered DNA’s double helix and used X-ray diffraction to capture it on camera, but then later succumbed to ovarian cancer from the radiation), Carl Wilhelm Scheele (who discovered seven new chemical elements, unaware that some — like cyanide and arsenic — were deadly) and William Bullock (who died of gangrene after his legs were crushed by the machine that made the mass printing of newspapers possible), highlighting their contributions and the sacrifices they made for scientific advancement.

Both series will be delivered in 2024, with international distribution (excluding Canada) handled by Autentic Distribution.

“We are excited grow our relationship with Autentic and continue our successful partnership with Super Channel in Canada,” said Daniel Oron, co-founder and executive producer at Go Button Media in a statement. “Both these companies are truly invested in collaboration, which enables and encourages a strong international output of our growing slate of our original productions.”
