The Quebecor Fund and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) have allocated more than $2.5 million in financing between the Television Production Assistance and Export Assistance programs.
More than $1.9 million is being provided through two components of the Quebecor Fund’s Television Production Assistance Program: the Support for the Creation of Intellectual Property, and the Support for the Production of Intellectual Property for International Markets.
Six projects have been selected for the production component of the program for a total of more than $1.7 million ($1.34 million from the Quebecor Fund, $373,333 from CMF), with four supported in partnership with the CMF.
The CMF-supported projects include three fiction programs – L’Affaire Corbeau (Encore Television), with TVA Group attached as the Canadian broadcaster, as well as Empathie (Trio Orange) and season two of L’Empereur (Sovimage), with Bell Media as the broadcaster – and the docuseries Nature symphonique (PVP Media), with TV5 Québec Canada.
The other two projects supported under the component are Les Armes (Aetios Productions), with TVA Group, and Splendeur et influence (Zone3), with Radio-Canada.
In the creation component, $200,000 has been granted to Montreal’s CarpeDiem Film & TV for the development of a project for Radio-Canada.
Meanwhile, PVP Distribution and Casablanca Distribution will receive a total of $600,000 ($400,00 from Quebecor, $200,000 from CMF) via the Export Assistance Program to support the development and marketing of audiovisual content adapted for markets outside of Quebec.
