Bell Media sets scripted, unscripted MIPCOM slate

The broadcaster is bringing more than 150 hours of original content, including Crave comedies Don't Even and Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid.

Crave scripted comedies Don’t Even and Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid, and CTV daytime series The Good Stuff with Mary Berg (pictured), are set to make their international market debut among a raft of Bell Media originals heading to MIPCOM.

Bell Media announced Tuesday (Oct. 10) that more than 150 hours of its original Canadian programming will be shopped at the Cannes market next week, with Brian Blazik, senior lead, content sales and acquisitions, on hand to represent the slate.

Don’t Even is a Crave and APTN lumi original, produced by Pier 21 Films, Frantic Films, and Sekowan Media, and follows a pair of high school graduates in the ’90s who try to make the most of their last summer before university.

Crave’s Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid is produced by Alibi Entertainment and sees the titular TikTok star try to break into television in a series that is described as a fusion of sitcoms, mockumentaries and reality shows.

Other scripted series headed to MIPCOM include Acting Good (Kistikan Pictures), with its second season set to debut on CTV Comedy Channel on Oct. 16, and CTV series Shelved (Counterfeit Pictures), created by Anthony Q. Farrell.

On the unscripted front, Bell Media’s distribution team will be debuting the new daytime series The Good Stuff with Mary Berg, which premiered on CTV on Sept. 5 and is produced in-house by Bell Media Studios.

A number of Discovery Canada originals are also headed to the market, including East Harbour Heroes (Attraction), Forensic Factor: A New Era (Bell Media Studios, Attraction), Pets & Pickers (Tyson Media), and Timber Titans (Great Pacific Media).

Rounding out the slate announcement are the Crave original docuseries We’re All Gonna Die (Even Jay Baruchel) (90th Parallel Productions), the CTV Life Channel original Staying Inn: Hotel Julie (Alibi Entertainment), and the Crave and CTV Life original Evolving Vegan (Bell Media Studios, Press Play Productions).

MIPCOM runs from Oct. 16 to 19.
