Toronto’s Antica Productions and U.K.’s TellTale Industries are boosting their partnership with the appointment of a new development team that will work on audio and TV projects.
As part of the new structure, Antica’s producer Laura Regehr (Love, Janessa) has been promoted to head of audio, while Geoff Siskind joins the Toronto office as head of television. Siskind is the former showrunner of Storage Wars Canada and the podcast Trailblazers with Walter Isaacson.
Jen Whyntie, who has served in producing, editing and development roles for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service joins as head of development for Antica and TellTale, while Samantha MacLean, formerly at Netflix Canada and CBC, joins as a development coordinator in Toronto.
The new team will support the creation of IP across all platforms, and builds on the first-look deal Antica has with TellTale Industries. Antica also has a minority stake in TellTale.
The two companies have a number of audio coproductions to their credit, including The No Good, Terribly Kind, Wonderful Lives and Tragic Deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman (Lionsgate, CBC) and Educating Daisy (Audible). They also coproduced Love, Janessa (BBC/CBC).
Antica president Stuart Coxe said in a statement that “it’s a challenging environment, but also full of opportunities. I’m delighted with our teams’ combined success this year and excited by what’s currently in our development pipeline. We continue to look for ways to leverage our partnerships in developing compelling stories for global audiences, in audio and TV.”
