Nelvana Enterprises has sold German broadcaster Ki.Ka its new 3D animated series Babar and the Adventures of Badou.

The German kids channel bought the first 26 episodes of the updated CGI version of the classic cartoon about the crowned king of elephants, to launch on Ki.Ka in spring 2011.

The Canadian-French co-production from Nelvana Studio and Paris-based animator TeamTO, aimed at kids four to seven years old, is already set to launch starting later this year on YTV and TFI in France.

Playhouse Disney France picked up the second window for France.

Babar and the Adventures of Badou introduces King Babar’s eight year-old grandson, and other new characters like Chiku the monkey, Monroe the porcupine and Jake the hyena.
